UNFPA Prequalified Manufacturers

The lists include manufacturers of male latex condoms, female condoms and intrauterine devices (IUDs) that meet the criteria set by UNFPA and the World Health Organization (WHO) for prequalification. The lists contain only manufacturers that have successfully completed the UNFPA/WHO prequalification process. The aim of the prequalification program is to ensure availability of quality products that meet international standards and UNFPA/WHO specifications.

  • Remarks The prequalification program of male latex condoms and Copper T 380A IUDs commenced in 2001 with the collaboration and support of other UN agencies and partners. This process has been harmonized with the WHO Prequalification of Medicines Programme. It follows a systematic process consisting of evaluation of required documentation and factory inspections to determine that the quality of products is in accordance with international standards and WHO/UNFPA specifications and guidelines. WHO/UNFPA recommends procuring male latex condoms, female condoms and IUDs only from manufacturers who have been prequalified through this process.
