  • Inputs & outputs The current 2015 edition covers the following which meet the criteria of inclusion i.e.(1) HIV diagnostic laboratory equipment and commodities that have been found eligible for WHO procurement; (2)those which are WHO-prequalified; (3)products included on the USAID list of approved HIV rapid test kits, and (4) the Global Fund waiver list for procurement. Price information: Important for the benchmarking of procurement prices, this tool also includes reference to the price of the commodities and equipment in the specification tables. Prices for branded products are procurement data for the period of 2011–2014 provided in the Global Price Reporting Mechanism (GPRM). Prices for generic commodities are prices advertised for the USA market by manufacturers and distributors in the 1st quarter of 2015. We will update regularly this tool as new products are prequalified.

  • Remarks This publication is the 2nd edition and is suitable for HIV programmes. The more it is used and comments sent to WHO the more it will respond to the needs of the users.
